MUMBAI, April 12 (Xinhua) -- India's struggling airline, Jet Airways, said it had grounded 10 more aircraft due to non-payment of amounts outstanding lease rentals.

"An additional 10 aircraft have been grounded due to non-payment of amounts outstanding to lessors under their respective lease agreements. The company is making all efforts to minimize disruption to its network due to the above and is proactively informing and re-accommodating its affected guests. The company also continues to provide required and periodic updates to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in this regard," said the airline in a notice to Bombay Stock Exchange late on Thursday.

The reduction by 10 aircraft now brings down the airline's fleet strength to 14, which is below the minimum fleet size of 20 to operate international flights. Prior to December, the airline had a fleet of 119 aircraft.

Indian aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, has sought a report to review the airline's international operations.
