ZHUHAI, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- A 3D model and life-size picture of the cabin of an aircraft co-developed by China and the Czech Republic debuted at the ongoing China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition here Tuesday.

China and the Czech Republic have launched an important aircraft program under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, according to the exhibition being held in Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong Province.

With an investment of 100 million euro, this new type of aircraft, equipped with a single turboprop engine, is to be developed, designed, produced and sold by the two countries.

The nine-seat aircraft will go into production in 2020 in the city of Zigong in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Lyu Kai, secretary general of Sino-Czech Aviation Association, said that the program has injected new vitality into the research and developmental capabilities of both China and the Czech Republic and created a high-end industrial cluster for the two sides in the field of aviation, which will bring new cooperative opportunities.
