Folk artist devoted to shadow puppet promotion in east China's Jiangxi

Folk artist Ding Yongfa checks newly-made shadow puppets in Jietou Village of Dongqiao Town in Xiangdong District of Pingxiang, east China's Jiangxi Province, Oct. 12, 2018. Xiangdong shadow puppet play, performed by manipulating flat leather cut-out puppets against a lit-up translucent screen, was listed as one of the intangible cultural heritage of Jiangxi. Ding, an inheritor of Xiangdong shadow puppet play, has been devoted to shadow puppet performing and creation of new plays to promote this folk art. (Xinhua/Peng Zhaozhi)
