Pic story: disabled female farmer shakes off poverty through hard work

He Xiaoqun walks home holding corns and eggplant in Jielong Township, Wulong District of southwest China's Chongqing, Aug. 10, 2018. Due to a fever caused by meningitis when she was three years old, He Xiaoqun never stood up afterwards. After lying in bed for one year, She tried to walk by crouching and learnt to live by herself. At the age of 20, she married farmer Zhao Zhiwan. Since then, she has started to plant crops and traditional Chinese herbs and raise poultry at home.
