JERUSALEM, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The leaders of Germany, Britain, and France have agreed that Iranian forces should be removed from Syria, an Israeli official was quoted by local media as saying Wednesday.

The statement came as Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concluded his three-day trip to Europe, which took him to Germany, France and Britain.

An Israeli official in Netanyahu's entourage said in London that German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Theresa May have agreed that the Iranian forces should be entirely removed from Syria, the Ha'aretz newspaper reported.

The three leaders also agreed to ask the International Atomic Energy Agency to examine the Iranian nuclear archive documents obtained by the Mossad intelligence agency.

Regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement, Netanyahu told the leaders that even if they will not relinquish their support to the deal, it will collapse anyway due to the sanctions that the United States will impose.

The three European leaders told Netanyahu that their countries will stay committed to the landmark deal as long as Iran will.

Netanyahu's trip aimed at persuading the three leaders to withdraw their support from the 2015 deal and halt Iran's effort to establish a military foothold in some countries in the Middle East.
