NEW YORK, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices settled higher on Friday as U.S. dollar index declines.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.38 percent to 89.047 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

The weaker dollar made the dollar-priced commodity more attractive for holders of other currencies.

The West Texas Intermediate for March delivery increased 63 U.S. cents to settle at 66.14 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for March delivery gained 10 cents to close at 70.52 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
